Issues to pay attention to when grinding valve lock grooves with diamond grinding wheels

The diamond roller grinding method is used to dress the grinding wheel, with its profile being the opposite of the required grinding wheel profile, and it moves in the same direction as the grinding wheel to shape it into the desired form.
The special grinding machine for locking clamps uses a diamond roller to dress the grinding wheel, which is then used to grind valves. The diamond roller we use has a layer of uniformly distributed diamond particles electroplated onto a steel substrate. When using it, two points should be noted:
1. When loading and unloading the diamond roller, gently tap it with a copper rod to prevent diamond particles from falling off.
2. Before dressing the grinding wheel with the diamond roller, it is necessary to adjust the relative position of the diamond roller and the grinding wheel in manual mode. For example: The automatic compensation amount for J4-048 locking clamp grinder is 0.01mm, with a compensation amount of 50mm. To meet this compensation amount, a grinding wheel grit size of 120# is generally selected.
When grinding locking clamp grooves, we dress the grinding wheel once every 20 products, with a dressing time of 30 seconds and a dressing linear speed ratio of 0.59. Sampling tests show that surface roughness Ra is between 0.63 and 1.25μm, and shape and positional accuracy are within 0.03mm, fully meeting customer requirements. Practice has proven that one diamond roller can produce between 60,000 to 80,000 qualified products.
The precision of locking clamp grooves mainly relies on the precision of the diamond roller for assurance. As a core component of locking clamp groove grinders, its profile design is particularly important. Using diamond rollers produced by Dongjin in Henan for dressing wheels ensures high precision and long service life, resulting in better surface roughness for processed workpieces, especially suitable for mass production.
